How old must my child be to attend babysitting service at yoga squared?
Our babysitting room is targeted to children from the ages of 6 months-7 years old, but your older child is welcome to come in! Older children are welcome to bring their homework, books, headphones, etc. Younger children may bring a special toy that brings them comfort!
What systems do you have in place to keep my child secure?
Yoga Squared believes in safety first! When you drop off your child in the babysitting room, you and your child will be given a matching ID number. You will need this number to retrieve your child, so no one but YOU will be able to take your child home.
My child has an allergy. How do your babysitters keep track of serious food allergies?
As a parent of a child with a food allergy, I understand the apprehension of leaving your child in the hands of someone that isn’t YOU! That’s why we always place a sticker between the shoulder blades of children with serious allergies identifying their specific allergy. We also do not allow snack sharing between children. As an added precaution, we ALWAYS take down allergy information each time we check-in your child. Please be advised that Yoga Squared is not an allergen free facility and allergens may be present. Please come prepared with anything your child may need for you to help manage their allergy.
I will be bringing more than one child with me to babysitting service. Is that okay?
Yes! Please see our babysitting pricing here.
I’m currently potty-training my child. Can I still drop them off and take class?
Yes. We do advise that you take them to use the restroom before class begins so you may practice uninterrupted. Should your child need to use the restroom, we will quietly inform so you can help them with their potty needs.
What happens if my child is crying when I drop him/her off?
It’s common for a few tears to be shed at first, but most children will calm down and play within a few minutes. Our babysitters will do their best to calm, soothe, and cheer your child if they are upset, but if they are still inconsolable after about 15 minutes, we may ask you to come and retrieve your child. If this happens to you, you will NOT be charged for class.
Do you limit the amount of children in the babysitting room?
Safety is our number one priority. To ensure the safety of your child, we may have to limit the occupancy of the babysitting room, which may vary depending on circumstances. Please come 10-15 minutes early to class to ensure that your child will have a spot in the babysitting room.
I want to come take class, but how do I get my stroller up to the 2nd floor?
Baby in a stroller? No worries. Please utilize our convenient elevator located on the 2nd Street side of the building. You can park your stroller safely out of sight on our private terrace.
Can my child bring drinks and snacks to the babysitting room?
Of course! If you do choose to bring snack and drinks for your child, please refer to the following guidelines:
- snack containers and drink cups should be clearly labeled with the child’s name
- please refrain from packing snacks with nut ingredients for the safety of children with serious food allergies.
- if your child is old enough to understand directions, please remind them that snack sharing is not allowed in the babysitting room
